Biography

Born and raised in New York City, Alex graduated with a bachelor’s degree in finance from New York University in 1981. He began his career in real estate soon after, already at the age of 23 making a name for himself as a real estate owner and developer.

Since then, Alex has managed industrial, flex, residential, and public properties in cities throughout America, in addition to other major business interests around the world. Among his most successful investments was a controlling interest in Dori, an Israeli construction company that operates in Israel, Europe, and Africa. Alex sold his stake in Dori for a substantial profit after helping the company to optimize its operations.

In 2010, after more than thirty years as an independent real estate professional, Alex founded Sky Management Services, a unique real estate company that brings innovative ideas and sharp business sense to its many holdings across the United States.
Staffed by a team of knowledgeable, veteran real estate experts, Sky Management Services specializes in increasing the value of properties through creative renovation and redistribution of assets.

With Sky Power, Alex has entered the growing field of green energy, one of the modern economy’s most thriving sectors. Alex believes that good business can change the world; as part of Sky Power, he hopes to take his place in the global trend towards environmental sustainability.

Personal Life and Philanthropy

Alex is married to Rosa Dembitzer, herself an accomplished businesswoman and environmentalist. Rosa, who immigrated from Costa Rica as a young adult in order to study at the University of Chicago, graduated with a bachelor’s degree in economics in 1988. After a career in finance, she earned a MA in environmental planning at New York City’s Pratt Institute, and became a consultant in sustainable architecture.

After many years of philanthropic work together, the couple founded
Northern Charitable, Inc. in 2007. Northern Charitable is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to the fight against hereditary disease. The organization partners with local initiatives and institutions in the US and Israel to raise disease awareness, encourage prevention and early testing, and provide support for patients.

Together, Alex and Rosa have two children. The family enjoys hiking, travel, and fitness. In 2010 the Dembitzers left New York and moved to Israel, where they have continued their work in real estate, renewable energy and philanthropy.
